Why install a green roof or wall? There are several reasons to install a roof covered with plants: - A green roof improves the thermal and sound insulation of a building: plants absorb a large share of rainwater, then release it into the air. This phenomenon helps regulate the building’s indoor temperature. - Energy savings can be made - Plants have a positive impact on air quality: they absorb particles harmful to the atmosphere (CO₂, dust, pollutants, etc.) and produce oxygen in return. - Promotion of urban biodiversity: green walls can serve as habitat for various organisms, thus promoting biodiversity in urban areas. Installing a green wall also has advantages: - Like a green roof, a green wall can help improve air quality by reducing CO₂ concentration and filtering certain polluting particles. - The plants on a green wall can act as thermal insulation, helping to regulate the ambient temperature. They can also absorb sound waves, thus contributing to improved acoustics in the premises. - Promotion of urban biodiversity, just like the green roof. And on top of that, a green roof or wall is very attractive!
