Why install a beehive in an organisation? The bee is the victim of an unprecedented crisis: pesticides, monocultures, urbanisation and global warming are disrupting flowering. Urbanisation has caused the number of bees to fall. In France, 4 million hives would be needed to pollinate the country properly; today there are 1.2 million. 85% of plants could disappear at the same time 80% of plants depend on bees to reproduce. This colossal figure is more alarming than ever, because it would mean the disappearance of those 80% of plants at the same time as these pollinators. Since other species also depend on them for food and shelter, this disappearance would therefore lead to others. The pollination of 90% of fruit trees is also carried out by bees. We can therefore enjoy this great variety of foods largely thanks to their work. Their extinction would therefore deprive human beings of many resources. It should be noted that 40% of what we eat and 80% of plant species on Earth depend directly on pollination. What are the benefits of installing a beehive within an organisation? Installing a beehive is both a “team building” project and an environmental commitment. Contrary to popular belief, bees also develop and thrive in the very heart of the city. Installing a beehive within an organisation therefore offers many benefits: - The installation and the learning of beekeeping practices by experts contribute to team cohesion - Contributes to saving the bee and takes part in leading environmental challenges - Sharing a novel and powerful project with employees within the company - Fits into a clear and concrete CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and Sustainable Development approach.
