Why install a dual-flush toilet? A toilet flush uses 6 to 10 litres of water (the standard capacity of a cistern), or 60 m3 per year. As a result, every year in France, toilets use 100 billion litres of water! Installing a dual-flush toilet makes it possible to control the amount of water used in the toilets with each flush, reducing the waste of this threatened resource. To avoid this overconsumption, the dual-flush system saves 45 to 60% of water per year! If this system cannot be installed, the volume of water released can be limited by placing an object in the cistern, for example a brick (taking due care, of course, of regulatory and safety aspects).

- Preserving water resources: with a dual-flush toilet, it is possible to choose the volume of water to use according to one's needs. For example, for liquid waste a small quantity of water can be used, whereas for solid waste a larger quantity may be needed. This significantly reduces water consumption. Using a dual-flush toilet therefore helps preserve the environment by reducing drinking water consumption. Indeed, drinking water is a precious and limited resource, and every effort to preserve it matters.
