By circulating exclusively within a network of local businesses and shops, the local currency encourages short supply chains. This automatically reduces the distances goods are transported and the associated carbon footprint.
Eco-responsible selection
Local currency networks generally admit businesses on the basis of environmental criteria (organic farming, eco-design, waste management), encouraging engaged consumers to turn to sustainable alternatives.
Ecological monetary innovation
The Mouvement Sol promotes monetary innovation by integrating Local Exchange Systems, accorderies and platforms such as MyTroc. This diversity of tools serves a more ecological society that is respectful of resources.
National communication
By providing nationwide communication, the Mouvement Sol relays environmental issues and the initiatives of member currencies to carry a stronger voice in the face of the challenges of the transition.

The team carries out ongoing advocacy and awareness-raising work with institutional stakeholders, the Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS) and Transition stakeholders to defend the interests of the territories.

Thanks to the richness of its network, the movement brings together essential skills to support local currencies in structuring themselves and developing on a larger scale.
Local economic sovereignty
This eco-gesture keeps wealth within the territory. The money put into circulation cannot be speculated on; it is exchanged among local actors, creating and sustaining jobs that cannot be relocated.
