Its features
Eco-renovation and bio-based insulation
The timber-frame buildings of the “forest” house benefit from high-performance thermal and acoustic insulation thanks to bio-based materials (wood fibre, blown-in cellulose and wood-fibre acoustic panels).
Sustainable water management
A rainwater harvesting tank is installed to meet the watering needs of the educational garden and the cleaning of the animal pens.
Energy sufficiency
The entire electrical network of the premises has been modernised and fitted with low-energy LED lighting.
Low-carbon mobility
To limit its carbon footprint, the organisation has acquired a modular electric vehicle (9-seater Jumpy) suited to transporting equipment and animals.
Preserving local biodiversity
The meadows are hayed using late mowing. This method allows wildflowers and orchids to reach maturity, maintaining a rich natural habitat for insects, birds and mammals.
Circular economy of biowaste
The running of the farm and the participatory chicken coop starts a virtuous cycle in which food scraps and resources from the vegetable garden are used directly by the animals or turned into compost for the garden.
Lasting embedding of behaviours
Although this is an intangible service, its impact is measured over the long term. The workshops teach visitors to respect living things and resources, ecological habits that they then take back home with them.
