Recycling compacted mixed-material waste
Waste
- Solution type
- Service
- Theme
- Waste
- Sector:
- Doubs, Jura, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Vosges, Territoire de Belfort

Its features
Environmentally friendly
- Sorting and recovery of recyclable waste: cardboard, paper, metal, plastic - Contribution to the circular economy: sorted waste becomes a resource reused in new production cycles - Reduction of CO₂ emissions linked to transport: this approach is built into every step of the process. From the source, installing a baling press at the customer's site compacts the waste, reducing the volume to be transported by up to five times compared with loose waste. The compacted streams are then sent to a geographically nearby sorting centre, in order to limit distances travelled and optimise collection rounds, thereby reducing the overall carbon footprint of transport. - Reduction of the carbon impact of supplies: thanks to reverse logistics, Réseau Cocci collects the multi-material bales, optimising their collection in a single pass, at the same time as product deliveries.
Second life
The compacted waste is taken to a nearby partner sorting centre. After passing through the sorting line, each type of waste becomes a secondary raw material for making new products in the respective sectors. A few examples: Cardboard -> cardboard Plastic bottle -> fleece or soft toy Aluminium can -> bicycle Tin can -> pétanque ball
