Why rehabilitate old premises for a new organization? France is estimated to have between 300,000 and 400,000 industrial brownfield sites, covering more than 150,000 hectares. These sites were abandoned after industrial activities ended. Rehabilitating them helps combat urban sprawl, which harms the environment, fauna and flora. The site also necessarily goes through decontamination, benefiting the environment. Rehabilitation saves resources by recovering materials from demolished buildings, such as concrete that can be used in new construction. Other materials can also be recovered and properly recycled. A new business seeking to develop its activities and establish permanent premises should therefore first consider rehabilitating old buildings rather than constructing a new one.
