The Eco-Geste Sheets highlight actions that Consomm'Acteurs can carry out to reduce the environmental impact of their organisation. An eco-gesture is the result of a voluntary action put in place in a company, on a targeted theme, that helps optimise the consumption of natural resources and reduce the organisation's pollution or waste. Why favour videoconferencing over non-essential travel? On average, cars produce 0.259 kg of CO₂ per km, i.e. on average 2 tonnes of CO₂ per year and per person. It is therefore preferable to favour videoconferencing for journeys that are not essential, thereby reducing the carbon impact, including that of employees. Moreover, videoconferencing offers great flexibility by allowing participants to connect remotely from anywhere with an Internet connection. This makes it easier for people in remote regions, abroad or in different time zones to take part. Videoconferencing removes geographical constraints and enables easier and faster collaboration between dispersed teams. In addition, videoconferencing often offers extra features such as meeting recording, chat rooms and document sharing, which improve interaction and team productivity.
