MONNAIE LOCALE - LE FLORAIN

Le Florain is the local complementary currency circulating in Nancy, southern Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Côtes de Meuse and western Vosges.

Created and supported by a citizens’ association, it aims to promote local exchanges and support an economy rooted in the area.

Accepted by a network of professionals and associations, Le Florain encourages wealth to circulate within the local economy. As with any local currency, every Florain in circulation is backed by an equivalent amount in euros held in a reserve fund. Le Florain also offers a “1% for associations” scheme: whenever euros are converted into Florains, a donation goes to a partner local association at no extra cost to the user. Le Florain therefore supports local activity, association life and initiatives in the area.
