PhytoRéut is an innovative and sustainable solution that naturally treats wastewater so that it can be reused for watering, while preserving water resources and promoting biodiversity.
Its features
Environmentally friendly
- Recovery of wastewater PhytoRéut makes it possible to reuse wastewater for watering, thus helping to preserve drinking water resources. It can recover between 80 and 100 liters of water per day and per person, thus limiting the waste of an essential resource. - French manufacturing Designed and manufactured in France, PhytoRéut favors local production. This approach helps limit reliance on imports and the greenhouse gas emissions linked to transporting products. - A natural, low-energy treatment The process uses local plants to filter and treat wastewater naturally, without requiring any external energy input. This approach thus helps limit the energy consumption linked to water treatment. - A space that supports biodiversity By creating genuine pockets of coolness, PhytoRéut contributes to the development of local biodiversity. Its landscape integration enhances the environment while preserving its natural character. - Bio-based materials The system uses bio-based filtering materials, such as wood chips and oyster shells. The use of charcoal and plants also contributes to carbon sequestration, strengthening the environmental approach of the system. - Sanitation without emptying Operating without a septic tank or emptying, PhytoRéut reduces the constraints and environmental impact associated with traditional sanitation systems. - A local approach to limit transport The use of locally sourced materials and supplies reduces transport distances and, consequently, the carbon footprint associated with delivering the components.
Second life
• Wood chips and oyster shells, used as filtration materials, can be composted or reintegrated into natural cycles, in particular to enrich soils as an organic amendment. • The plants used for phytopurification, after their life cycle, can be composted and reintegrated into the soil as organic fertilizer, or replaced as part of new landscaping projects. • The charcoal used as a filter and carbon sink can be recycled or composted to enrich the soil, thus contributing to carbon sequestration even after the end of the system’s life. • Aggregates or other locally sourced materials can also be reused in other construction or landscaping projects, thus limiting waste generation. • The components of the casing are selected for their durability and their potential for reuse or recycling at end of life, thus reducing the waste generated, in particular polypropylene, a recyclable plastic material.
